In such a fast paced world, our goal is to slow it down a bit, enjoy the process of building a dream and know where your money is spent along the way. While the market of restoration is clearly here to stay, our hope is that our reputation stands above the rest by our open and honest approach and genuine love and appreciation we have as a shop to keep these amazing classics on the road!
Bombshell’s philosophy is rooted from the experiences as a classic car builder of owner operator, Clinton Cannaday. Clinton is a graduate of Wyoming Technical Institute and Acoustic Edge Institute. He has spent his past 16+ professional years in the automotive industry, as well being surrounded by custom and classic cars throughout his life. Bombshell is a representation of his acquired knowledge, work experiences and customer relations he has built over the years. The team of skilled technicians working at Bombshell have the same goal in mind – to build the best classic cars and create a legacy of quality built vehicles!
Estimates are not typical to a restoration shop and customers should beware of a shop that provides one on a vehicle they have not thoroughly diagnosed. We ask you to keep in mind that restoration of classic cars is an art form that requires finesse and takes more than simply slapping parts on. Understandably, a customer wants an idea of what they are looking at cost wise, however, there are so many factors involved in the build that can change along the way, that estimates are very hard to provide accurately. We can base our estimated cost on initial inspection and discussion of end goals then further diagnosis once the vehicle has been disassembled and stripped.
When restoring a vehicle, the unknown factors that can arise during a build are unpredictable and every vehicle is different. The fairest way to bill classic repairs is by the hour. You’ll only pay for exact time with us. Our labor rates are competitive and vary among the services we offer.
Please reach us at INFO@BOMBSHELL.NET if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Appointments are accepted for Full Restorations, Partial Restorations including replacement of full mechanical systems or full body & paint (no spot repair or single panel) & Full upholstery services. Please review the page "Services" for more info.
There are many factors that can affect the timeline of a build. Having a planned build makes this process much more smooth. When we begin work on your project, we fill out documentation of every aspect of the build and plan for as much as possible. Slight changes to that plan won't affect the timeline much, but drastic changes will. We depend on our vendors to supply our quality parts, sometimes there are delays there. A client may need to take a break for their own personal reasons. A solid planned build typically takes anywhere from 10 moths to a year or more.
Every car and every client is different. Some parts are available to purchase, others must be restored or made by hand. One motor could cost $15K and another could cost $50K. The options of what you can choose us to build are endless. Our full restorations vary from a back to factory rebuild with little to no customization all the way to extremely custom, one-off, heavily modified builds. Full restorations start around $85K - $150K, depending on restoration specs. The extremely custom builds can be in the $300K and up range. Our clients choose the road we take together.
Because our services include rebuilding entire vehicles, it takes time. We typically have at minimum, 10 projects going at one time, in various stages of restoration. As we have openings in different departments, we will bring in our next project on the waiting list. For full restorations, the wait is approximately 2 years. For partial mechanical or body restorations, the wait is about 1 year. For full interior service, the wait is usually less than 3 months. Contact us to be placed on our waiting list or schedule an appointment to discuss your build with us.
Ultimately, we are building our client's dream. There are so many options of what it can look like and how it can perform. Usually our clients have an idea of what they want but may need assistance putting it all together. We will assist & educate our clients of their options based on their end goal. Our relationships with our vendors and our past experiences of previous builds assist us in recommending the best options for our clients. All builds are planned and designed with shop owner, Clinton.
